Care Instructions & Product Information

How do I use silicon moulds?

Our silicon moulds are intended to be used for sugarcraft products, such as fondant, gum paste and sugar lace paste.

  1. Prepare your work surface with a thin dusting of corn flour (to prevent the fondant from sticking to the surface).
  2. Prepare your mould with a thin dusting of corn flour. Using a food-grade brush, spread the cornflour inside the mould ensuring you cover all surfaces (especially right into any corners or fine details of the mould). Turn the mould over and lightly tap the mould to remove any remaining loose cornflour.
  3. Gently knead your fondant with your hands till it is a soft, malleable consistency.
  4. Break off a portion of fondant roughly the size of the mould. Gently work the fondant into the mould, ensuring the fondant fills the entire mould paying careful attention to any corners, fine lines and small details.
  5. Using a fondant carving tool, remove any excess fondant and neaten the fondant around the edges of the mould.
  6. Be patient. Leave the fondant in the mould to settle for a few seconds (e.g. 5 seconds) before trying to remove the shape from the mould.
  7. Before turning the shape out of the mould, work your way around the edges of the mould gently pulling the mould away from the fondant. Pay special attention to corners and small details and turns where the fondant may get stuck.
  8. Turn the mould over and gently remove the shape from the mould trying not to pull or stretch the fondant.
  9. Use a brush to dust off any loose cornflour from your shape.

How do I clean and store the silicon moulds and cutters?

Wash your moulds and cutters in warm soapy water, then pat dry with a towel. Leave to dry completely before storing in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Do not place moulds or cutters in the dishwasher as the high temperatures may damage or distort your products.

Do not use sharp objects on your silicon moulds.

Cutters may have sharp edges and should be handled with care.

What are your products made from?

All our silicon moulds are made from food grade silicon. Due to the nature of the production process, there may be slight imperfections and differences in the moulds, however this will not affect the design or the final outcome.

Our cutters are made from stainless steel and are safe for use with food products.
